CryoPad™ - Self Cooling Dog Mat 2.0
CryoPad vs. The Gel Pad In Your Closet
Most cooling mats are the same gel bladder in a different colour. Gel goes lukewarm in about twenty minutes and splits the first time a bored dog gets a tooth into it. Here's what we changed.

FAQs
Does it actually get cold, or is that marketing?
It's cool to the touch, not refrigerated — and that's the point. The weave conducts heat away from your dog faster than a bed or the floor does, the same way a marble countertop feels cold without being cold. You'll feel it with your hand. Your dog feels it far more, because they have much more surface area against it.
How do I know it cools better than a cheaper mat?
There's a lab measurement for this called Q-Max — how fast a fabric pulls heat from whatever touches it. Higher is better, and 0.4 and above is considered genuine cool-touch performance.
We had our fabric independently tested and we publish the result rather than describing it in adjectives. Most mats in this category have never been tested at all.
Will it lower my dog's body temperature?
We're not going to give you a number for that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Some cooling mats advertise a specific drop in body temperature — those figures aren't measured, they're marketing.
What a cool-touch fabric genuinely does is give your dog a surface that draws heat away instead of trapping it, so resting is more comfortable in warm weather. That's the same reason they go and lie on the kitchen floor.
It is not a treatment for overheating. If your dog is in distress, that's a vet call.
Do I need to freeze it or add water?
No. Unroll it and it works. It cools under your dog's weight and body heat, then recharges on its own within a few minutes once they get up. No freezer, no water tray, no batteries, nothing to plug in.
Is it safe if my dog chews it?
There's no gel, no fluid and no chemical filler — the cooling lives in the weave of the fabric itself. If it's punctured, nothing leaks out. It isn't indestructible, and no mat is: a determined shredder can destroy any bedding. But there's nothing hazardous inside it.
Will it slide around on hardwood?
The underside is textured non-slip backing. On hardwood, tile and laminate it stays put under a dog landing on it at speed. On deep pile carpet it'll shift a little — but carpet isn't where you want it anyway, since hard floors amplify the cooling.
What size should I get?
Measure your dog nose-to-tail while they're stretched out on their side, then add about four inches. If you're between sizes, size up — dogs sprawl when they're hot, and a mat they hang off of gets abandoned.
- S — 16" × 26" — cats, Chihuahua, Dachshund, Yorkie, small puppies
- M — 26" × 38" — Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie, French Bulldog
- L — 36" × 46" — Labrador, German Shepherd, Husky, Golden Retriever
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, no fabric softener, then air dry flat. Fabric softener is the one thing that genuinely hurts it — it leaves a coating that blocks the fabric's contact with your dog. The cooling is structural rather than a surface treatment, so normal washing doesn't reduce it.
Can I use it outside?
Yes — patio, campsite, back of the car, shaded grass. Keep it out of direct midday sun. Any surface sitting in full sun will warm up, and the mat can only pull heat away, not refrigerate.
My dog is a senior or flat-faced. Is this suitable?
These are the dogs that struggle most in heat — Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, Boxers, and older dogs generally, because panting is less efficient for them. A cool resting surface helps.
It is not a treatment for heatstroke. If your dog is distressed, drooling heavily, unsteady or vomiting, that's an emergency vet call, not a mat.
How long does delivery take?
Orders ship within 1 business day and typically arrive in 5–12 business days with tracking. If yours hasn't arrived by the estimated delivery date on your order, email us and we'll refund you in full — and you keep the mat.
What if my dog just ignores it?
Some dogs claim it in ten seconds. Some take a few days, especially if they're used to something plush. Put it where they already lie down when it's hot — that cold spot on the kitchen floor is usually the right answer. If they still won't use it, you've got 30-day returns, no questions asked.
